NASA lauches Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 Mission
This new satellite observer is NASA’s first spacecraft dedicated to making space-based observations of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Which is the principal human-produced driver of climate change. It will be a new science mission to Earth which will have the accuracy, resolution and coverage needed to provide more data about carbon.
In detail scientists want to know about the geographic distribution and seasonal variations of both human and natural sources of carbon dioxide emissions. Another interesting mystery to solve are the places where these emissions are being absorbed (sinks). This project will provide future data on regional scales at monthly intervals.
